Yet "bright indirect light," the phrase plastered on every plant tag, is one of the most confusing terms in houseplant care. - Type: a full-spectrum LED is almost always the right choice today. Look for one marketed for "growing" or with a colour temperature around 5000–6500 K. Avoid pink-purple "blurple" lights unless you enjoy the look — modern white LEDs perform just as well.
- Distance: 30–60 cm (12–24 inches) above the plant is the sweet spot for most foliage plants. Move it closer for higher-light species, further for shade-tolerant ones.
